The Product Optimization page is where Rankz helps you understand why your products may or may not be recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, and what you can do to improve that.
Rankz analyzes each selected Shopify product using the data that already exists in your store. This includes product titles, descriptions, images, pricing, SEO fields, variants, tags, and overall structure. The analysis is read only until you explicitly approve a fix.
Each product is broken down into multiple analysis categories. Each category represents a signal that AI models use when deciding whether to mention, recommend, or compare a product.
Below is an explanation of what each category means and why it matters.
Title
Product titles are one of the strongest signals for AI understanding. AI models rely on titles to quickly determine what a product is, who it is for, and how it should be categorized.
Rankz checks whether your title is descriptive, uses natural language, includes relevant attributes, and matches how customers actually search and ask questions.
Weak or vague titles often lead to low AI visibility even if the product itself is strong.
Description
Product descriptions provide the main context AI uses to understand benefits, use cases, and differentiation.
Rankz evaluates whether your description explains what the product is, who it is for, how it is used, and what makes it different. It also checks structure and clarity.
Missing or thin descriptions severely limit AI visibility because the model lacks enough information to confidently recommend the product.
Media
Images help both users and AI understand a product. AI models strongly favor products with multiple, clear images that show use cases, angles, and details.
Rankz checks whether your product has images, how many there are, and whether they support understanding the product.
Products without images or with very limited visuals are less likely to be recommended.
Pricing
Price is a common constraint in AI shopping queries. Users often ask for products under a certain budget or best value options.
Rankz checks whether pricing fields are present and properly set, including compare at prices when relevant. While pricing alone does not guarantee visibility, missing or unclear pricing can limit recommendations for value driven queries.
SEO fields
SEO titles and descriptions help AI models understand product context beyond the main title and description.
Rankz checks whether SEO fields are set, unique, and aligned with the product’s actual purpose and audience.
Missing SEO metadata reduces the amount of structured context AI can use.
Variants
Variants help AI understand different options such as size, color, or format.
Rankz checks whether variants are properly defined and whether important attributes are missing or unclear.
Clear variants improve matching for specific queries like size, color, or configuration based searches.
Categorization
Product type and tags help AI classify products correctly.
Rankz checks whether product types and tags are set and whether they align with how customers search and how AI groups products.
Poor categorization often leads to products appearing in the wrong context or not appearing at all.
Structure
Well structured content is easier for AI to parse.
Rankz evaluates whether descriptions use headings, bullet points, or logical sections that clearly separate features, benefits, and specifications.
Unstructured content makes it harder for AI to extract key information.
Conversational language
AI models favor natural language that resembles how people speak and ask questions.
Rankz checks whether your product content sounds human and conversational, rather than overly technical or keyword stuffed.
Conversational content improves alignment with real AI queries.
Trust signals
Trust signals such as reviews, ratings, and clear policies help AI assess credibility.
Rankz checks whether trust elements are present and visible.
While trust signals do not directly control visibility, they influence how confidently AI presents a product to users.
Issues, suggestions, and fixes
For each issue Rankz finds, you will see:
A clear explanation of the problem
A suggested fix written in plain language
An impact level showing how strongly it affects AI visibility
Some fixes can be applied automatically using AI generated suggestions. These are always optional and require manual approval.
Rankz never modifies checkout, orders, payments, customers, or store settings.
